Individualized Sign Language Support
It is hard for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children to receive comprehensive language input in their daily lives through auditory channels. While sign language is the most accessible and barrier-free language for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children, there is always insufficient sign language input in the environment for these children to build their language foundations, which affects their overall development.
SLCO Community Resources is therefore offering a new support service ‘Individualized Sign Language Support”. In the programme, Deaf instructors and experienced child-care workers will provide more quality sign language input to children and parents. Early childhood development support such as behavioural, emotional and social training will also be provided. At the same time, parents’ signing abilities and caregiving skills will be strengthened and improved, and the children will be better prepared for future schooling and development.
