About Us

SLCO Community Resources Limited (SLCO) was established in 2016 with the support of the Sustainable Knowledge Transfer Project Fund of The Chinese University of Hong Kong as an independent non-profit charitable organization. Based on linguistics research and frontline service experience, SLCO develops and provides sign bilingual education and communication support services to enhance the language, cognitive, communication and social ability of people in need, and promotes inclusiveness and put it into practice to build a diverse society without communication barriers.

The flagship project of SLCO is the “Sign Bilingualism and Co-enrolment Education Programme“, Asia’s first inclusive education programme using both signed and spoken languages as the medium of instruction to enable barrier-free mainstream education for deaf children and whole-person development for hearing children, achieving true inclusiveness through deaf-hearing interaction and co-development.
